Build a Business, Not a Job

Carl Gray III on Offers, Systems, AI, and Raising the Next Generation of Founders

About

About Carl Gray III

Carl Gray III calls himself your favorite business solutions architect. Born in D.C. and raised in Landover, Maryland, he is a proud public school kid, a Parkdale High School graduate, and a Hampton University alumnus. His curiosity for technology began around age ten or eleven, when his pastor gave him his first computer, and it set him on a path he has followed ever since.

After a start in politics and IT consulting, Carl became an ethical hacker and cybersecurity specialist, helping build the cybersecurity arm of what was then the largest minority-owned consulting firm. He has worked with major organizations including Marriott and Ritz-Carlton and helped develop a strategic plan for the U.S. Treasury. For the past 13 years, he has worked for himself, using the same mindset that finds weak points in a security system to find the holes in a client's business plan, systems, and processes.

Today, Carl helps entrepreneurs and experts build the business they deserve by designing a clear offer and the systems behind it. He is the author of 7 Day Business Plan and the creator of The Authority Experience, a program that helps experts write their first authority book in two days. His message is simple: most people do not have a skills problem or a product problem, they have an offer problem, and the difference between a business and a job is systems.

Carl is also the founder of Raising Founders, a youth entrepreneurship program that began as a virtual cyber and business camp during COVID. Now in its fourth year, the curriculum is taught full time at Achievement Prep in Washington, D.C., and has reached more than 17 schools in Prince George's County. His mission is to raise a generation that owns, not just works, and he envisions an entrepreneurship-centered school in every major urban district.
